How We Rate Online Casinos for BC Players: What We Check

Every casino on this site went through the same checks before it was listed, most recently on 20 October 2026. This page sets out what we look at, how the run grade is worked out, how the order is decided and where the method stops.

Step 1

Who Can Be Listed at All

Short answer

Only casinos with a licence from a named regulator that accept players from British Columbia, take Canadian dollars and pay out by Interac e-Transfer.

A casino is considered only if it meets four conditions. It must hold a licence from a regulator we can name and whose register or seal we can check: at present the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, the Tobique Gaming Commission or the Malta Gaming Authority. It must accept adults in British Columbia, which excludes brands that serve Canada only through an Ontario-licensed site. It must offer accounts in Canadian dollars. And it must pay withdrawals by Interac e-Transfer, the method most players in BC rely on.

Brands that serve only Ontario are never listed here, even when the same name runs an international site elsewhere. Visitors in Ontario and Alberta see the guides on this site without the casino list, because their provinces license their own markets.

Step 2

What We Check for Each Casino

Short answer

The licence and its holder, the welcome offer and its terms, minimum deposit, Interac in both directions with the stated payout time and limit, game library and apps.

For each casino we record the regulator, the company that holds the licence and the licence number where one is published. We read the welcome offer and its terms: the match and its maximum, free spins, the wagering multiple and what it applies to, the time allowed, the maximum bet while a bonus is active and the minimum deposit. For payments we note whether Interac e-Transfer works for deposits and withdrawals, the stated withdrawal time once the account is verified, and the largest single withdrawal. We add the size of the game library and whether apps exist.

Our sources are, in order: the casino's own bonus and terms pages, its cashier and help pages, and our own research records, which we compare against the casino's pages. Where the casino's own page could not be read from Canada at the time of the check, we say so in the record and treat the figure as provisional until it is read again.

Step 3

How the Run Grade Is Calculated

Short answer

Effective wagering is the total you must bet divided by the bonus. Up to 30x is green, 31x to 39x blue, 40x to 59x black, 60x or more double black.

The run grade borrows the trail signs of BC ski hills. It answers one question: how hard is this bonus to clear? We divide the total amount you must bet by the bonus amount, assuming the game counts in full. A multiple on the bonus is used as it stands. A multiple on the deposit is converted using the match percentage, so 25x the deposit on a 100 per cent match counts as 25x. A multiple on deposit plus bonus is doubled for a 100 per cent match, because you bet on both.

The bands are: green circle at 30x or less, blue square from 31x to 39x, black diamond from 40x to 59x, and double black at 60x or more. In the calculator, a very short window moves the grade up one step: if the daily amount you would need to bet is more than three times your deposit plus bonus, the run is harder than its multiple suggests. An offer with no wagering, such as free spins paid as cash, has nothing to grade and is shown as green.

The grade is arithmetic on published terms. It says nothing about the chance of winning, and a green grade does not make an offer good value for everyone; it only means the conditions are lighter.

Step 4

How the Order Is Decided

Short answer

Licence and payments come first, then the terms of the offer, then the size of the library. The order is our editorial judgement, not a score.

We do not publish a points score. A single number hides the trade-offs that matter: a casino with the fastest payouts may have the hardest offer, and the largest library may come with the lowest withdrawal limit. The order puts the licence and the payment route first, because those decide whether you get your money; the terms of the offer second; and the game library third. Commercial agreements with casinos exist, as the disclosure at the top of each page says, and a casino that fails the checks above is not listed whatever the agreement.

Every table on the site shows the underlying figures next to the order, and the filters on the homepage re-sort the top three by payout time, wagering or minimum deposit, so you can apply your own priorities.

Step 5

How Often the Figures Are Checked

Short answer

Offers, payout times and terms pages are re-checked regularly. Each change goes into the Run report with the date it was noticed.

Offers change often, so they are re-read regularly along with stated payout times and the full terms pages. When a figure moves, the change is entered in the Run report on the homepage with the old value, the new value and the day we noticed it, and the tables update with it. A casino that loses its licence, stops accepting players from British Columbia or stops paying out by Interac is removed.

What This Method Does Not Do

Short answer

We record stated payout times; we do not measure our own withdrawals. We do not give legal or tax advice.

Payout times on this site are those the casinos state for Interac withdrawals after verification. They are not timings from our own test withdrawals, and your first withdrawal will usually take longer because of the identity check. Game counts are those the casinos publish. Licence details are taken from the casinos' own pages and the regulators' public information where it is available.

The legal pages explain what official sources say and quote them; they are not legal advice. Listing a casino does not mean the Province of British Columbia approves it. PlayNow.com is the only online gambling site the Province authorises, and we describe it on its own page.
